Derek Faasse

Derek Faasse is currently the Director of Undergraduate Admission at Capital University, located in Columbus, Ohio. Over the course of his 13-year higher education career, he has previously worked regionally throughout the country for Lake Superior State University, The University of Alabama, and the University of Toledo before starting on campus at Capital in 2023. Derek has served as the College Fairs Chair and as the President of the Rocky Mountain ACAC and is currently the Treasurer of the Ohio ACAC. Derek received a BA in Sociology from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI and an MA in Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. Outside of the admissions world, Derek is a prominent composer for marching bands. He writes for groups throughout North and South America and over the past 20 years has worked with ensembles that have captured regional, national, and world championships. At home, Derek and his wife, Elizabeth, have four young children and he enjoys running, cooking, and bike rides with the kids.
