Miriam Merrill

Miriam is a strategic and growth-focused executive leader in higher education with a proven track record of supporting executive leadership and driving long-term institutional initiatives. An accomplished educator and presenter, she leverages her background in communication and athletics to successfully navigate complex organizational operations and workflow optimization. Miriam Merrill returned to the Hill in July 2026 to serve as the chief of staff and secretary to the Board of Trustees, transitioning from her role as director of athletics and chair of physical education at Pomona-Pitzer. Merrill works closely with the President and Senior Staff to advance the strategic priorities and operational goals of The College. Additionally, Merrill partners with the board, board chair, and president to support effective governance through strategic advice, board education, and execution of board operations.
