About the Episode

At most institutions, the graduate admissions staff is responsible for student recruitment and faculty members, if involved in the recruitment process at all, typically handle admissions interviews with top candidates.  At Baylor College of Medicine, it works differently.  On this week's episode of the Enrollify Podcast we feature an interview with Dr. Frederick (Fred) Pereira, the Director for the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.  Dr. Pereira shares insights into the importance of faculty involvement in the PhD student recruitment process and offers ideas on how to recruit both domestic and international students for really niche programs.  Dr. Pereira believes that as institutions restructure and consolidate resources, more and more faculty members will be asked to play a more "hands on" role in engaging with prospective students.
