Is it Time to Leave Higher Education? What Enrollment Managers Need to Know Before Switching Careers

Or listen on:

About the Episode

In higher education, we talk a lot about the massive disruption happening in terms of how prospective students research, evaluate, and ultimately "buy" education.  We talk less about the disruption happening on the professional side of things - the massive restructuring and regime changes affecting admissions and marketing folks at all levels, but especially at the graduate level.  On this week's episode, we feature a conversation between Zach Busekrus and Dr. Ray Lutzky on professional development and advancement in enrollment management.  After spending 17+ years working in enrollment management, Dr. Lutzky decided to leave the higher education space and join InStride - a public-benefit corporation founded by Arizona State University.  Lutzky shares vulnerably about the "glass ceiling" he hit when trying to advance from the director-level to the VP-level - his story and insights will be helpful to any higher education professional evaluating both their short-term and long-term career goals.
